History
Named on June 8, 1789, by Captain W. Douglas, Royal Navy (RN), who described it as " high mountain on the west side of the (Buccleugh) Sound." The name was shortened to its present form in 1880 by U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS).
