History
This place was probably established during World War 22; now home for Coast Guard, Weather Bureau, Federal Aviation Agency, and airline personnel and their families. The community has a school (Alaska Sportsman, 1962, no. 12, p. 26); it obtained a postoffice in 1947 (Ricks, 1965, p. 4).
