East Island is located in Tongass Narrows, near mouth of Ward Cove, 4 mi. NW of Ketchikan, Alex. Arch. 100 feet long.

Named by W. E. George, a local pilot; published in 1883 by U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS).
