Description
Bench Lake is located at head of Bench Creek, 0.5 mi. NE of Johnson Lake and 22 mi. SE of Sunrise, Chugach Mts. 1 mile long.
History
Local name reported by Grant and Higgins (1913, pl. 1), U.S. Geological Survey (USGS); derived from Bench Creek which drains the lake.
