Description
Passage Island is located at entrance to Port Graham, on SW end of Kenai Peninsula, 8 mi. SW of Seldovia, Chugach Mts.
History
So named by Captain Protlock (1789, p. 106) in 1786, because the island was at the entrance to what was erroneously thought to be a "strait (Port Graham) leading out to sea."
