Heading on W slopes of Mount Spurr, flowing S toward E end of Chakachamna Lake, 41 mi. NW of Tyonek, Alaska Range. 9 miles long.

So named in 1927 by S. R. Capps and R. H. Sargent (in Smith and others, 1930, pl. 1,2), U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), because cthe moraine lay across their route."
