Description
Fortification Bluff is located on E coast of Alaska Peninsula, S of Step Mountain and 16 mi. NW of Augustine I., Aleutian Range. 3 miles long.
History
So named in 1914 by U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS) because of its fort-like appearance as it rises 1,200 ft. from the shore.
