Description
Heads on the SE slope of Hawthorne Peak, flowing SE to Stephens Passage at Cherokee Flats, 1.2 mi NW of Bishop Point, 12 mi. SE of Juneau, Coast Mts. 4.5 miles long.
History
Name first used in a mining location notice by J. G. Peterson and Chris Fuhr in 1890. The source of the name is not known (DeArmond, 1957, p. 23). Name was published in 1906 by U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) (Spencer and Wright, pl. 37).
