Description

In the Coast Mountains, heads at 583600N, 1343800W, trending NNW, then SW, to unnamed lake at the head of Eagle River, 22 mi NW of Juneau. 9 miles long.

History

Named by Commander Richard W. Meade, U.S. Navy (USN), in 1869, because of the feature's resemblance to an eagle with outstretched wings. It forms the head of the Eagle River.
