Description
In the Coast Mountains, heading approximately at the Canada-United States international boundary and trending SSW to Taku Glacier, 3 mi WNW of Hodgkins Peak and 25 mi NE of Juneau. 14 miles long.
History
Named in 1953 by personnel of the Juneau Icefield Research Project for Max Harrison Demorest (1910-1942), assistant professor of geology at the University of North Dakota and Sterling Fellow at Yale in 1939. He was killed in 1942 as a lieutenant in the USDF while on the Greenland Ice Sheet attempting to rescue personnel from a downed military aircraft.
