Description
Point Bridget is located on E shore of Lynn Canal, at S entrance to Berners Bay, 2 mi. W of Echo Cove and 33 mi. NW of Juneau, Coast Mts.
History
Named in 1794 by Captain Vancouver (1798, atlas, pl.12), RN, probably for his mother whose name was Bridget Berners (Wagner, 1937, p.377). Captain Tebenkov (1852, map 8), Imperial Russian Navy (IRN), transliterates the English name as "Bridzhyet."
