Description
Limestone Inlet is located on E shore of Stephens Passage, 2.5 mi. S of Taku Harbor and 25 mi. SE of Juneau, Coast Mts.
History
Named in 1869 by Commander R. W. Meade, U.S. Navy (USN), who (in Baker, 190, p. 404) says, "* * * from a remarkable looking streak on the side of the mountain forming the west side of the inlet I called it Limestone Inlet * * *."
