Description
In Glacier Bay National Monument in the Fairweather Range, S of North Deception Lake, into which it drains, 2 mi. N of Torch Bay, 24.5 mi SE of Mount Crillon, St. Elias Mts.
History
Named by National Park Service (NPS) in 1962 because, although near sea level, its mountainous location gives an appearance of being at a higher elevation.
