Faust Island is located in Seymour Canal, 28 mi. NE of Angoon, on E coast of Admiralty I., Alex. Arch.
History
Named in 1890 by Lieutenant Commander H. B. Mansfield, U.S. Navy (USN), for Ensign W. G. Faust, U.S. Navy (USN), a member of his party. The name was published in 1892 by U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS) on Chart 8300.
