Description
Dorn Island is located in Seymour Canal, 27 mi. NE of Angoon, on E coast of Admiralty I., Alex. Arch. 1 mile long.
History
Named in 1890 by Lieutenant Commander R. W. Meade, U.S. Navy (USN), for Lieutenant Edward J. Dorn, U.S. Navy (USN), a member of his party. The name was published in 1890 by U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS).
