Description
Taylor Island is located off E shore of Taylor Bay, in Glacier Bay National Monument, 4 mi. W of Point Wimbledon, 40 mi. NW of Hoonah, St. Elias Mts.
History
Named by J. F. Pratt, U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS); published in the 1901 Alaska Coast Pilot (p. 205). The name was derived from Taylor Bay.
