Description
Toby Creek is located heads at glacier terminus, flows NW to Chitistone River, 3.1 mi. NE of junction with Glacier Creek, 21 mi. NE of McCarthy, Wrangell Mts.
History
Local name reported in 1907 by D. C. Witherspoon, U.S. Geological Survey (USGS). Name may have been derived from "tebay" which Lieutenant Allen (1887, p. 54), USA, says is an Indian word for "a variety of sheep."
