Description
Chititu Creek is located flows NW to Nizina River, 9 mi. SE of McCarthy, St. Elias Mts. 7 miles long.
History
The Indian name was reported in 1885 by Lieutenant Allen (1887, p. 55), USA, to mean "copper water." His map shows "Chitty-Too" while his report spells the name "Chittyto." So named because of its dark brown (or copper) color.
