Description
Mavis Island is located in Eyak Lake, 2 mi. E of Cordova, Chugach Mts.
History
Named for Miss Mavis Fields of Cordova, who was killed in an airplane accident near this island on May 19, 1935; reported in 1936 by U.S. Geological Survey (USGS).
