Description
Thompson Pass is located on Richardson Highway, at head of Ptarmigan Creek, 3.2 mi. NE of Wortmanns and 18 mi. E of Valdez, Chugach Mts.
History
Named in 1898 by Captain Abercrombie (1899 p. 302), USA, "in compliment to Hon. Frank Thomson, of Pennsylvania." He spells the name "Thompson" on his map and it is this form that survived.
