Lower Herring Bay is located on NW coast of Knight I., extends SW to Knight Island Passage, 10 mi. NE of Chenega, Chugach Mts.
History
Local name published in 1908 by U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS). So named because it is south of Herring Bay.
