Canyon Lake is located at head of Canyon Creek, 28 mi. NE of Goodnews, Kilbuck-Kuskokwim Mts. 2 miles long.
History
Local name derived from Canyon Creek, "Kliqtluaq" is the Eskimo name reportedly meaning "lake below;" published in 1951 by U.S. Geological Survey (USGS).
