History

Name reported about 1899 by U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS). Captain M. D. Tebenkov, Imperial Russian Navy (IRN), in 1849 named it "Mys Boil" for for Lieutenant Roman Boil, who was in the party when Captain Lieutenant M. N. Vasiliev, Imperial Russian Navy (IRN), discovered Nunivak Island in 1921.
