Description
Matanuska Valley is located of Matanuska River, extends SW from terminus of Matanuska Glacier to Knik Arm Cook Inlet, 25 mi. NE of Anchorage, Cook Inelt Lowland.
History
Name reported in 1898 by Mendenhall (U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), 1899, p. 46) while he was exploring the Matanuska River region under the command of Captain E. F. Glenn, USA.
