History
Name proposed in 1976 by Senator Ted Stevens to commemorate Louisiana Congressman Thomas Hale Boggs (1914-1972), who disappeared along with Congressman Nicholas Begich on October 16, 1972 during an airplane flight from Anchorage to Juneau.
