Description
Range Point is located on E shore of Chichagof Harbor on NE coast of Attu I., Aleutian Islands.
History
This name was given by Lieutenant William Gibson who commanded the schooner U.S.S. Fenimore Cooper during the North Pacific Exploring Expedition of 1854-55. The name is listed in the 1944 Aleutian Coast Pilot and is shown on an Army Map Service (AMS) map published in 1943.
