On Isanotski Strait, on the E coast of Unimak Island; Aleutian Islands.
History
An early English name for Isanotski Strait. The strait was called "False Pass" because it was thought to be impassable at the north end. A cannery was built which provided the nucleus of the settlement. A post office was established in 1921 (Ricks,1965,p20).
