Formed by damming the North Branch Potomac River 8 km (5 mi) SW of Piedmont, West Virginia. Surface area of 952 acres, 13.6 mi. shoreline. (US-T121)
History
Authorized by Congress in 1962; constructed between 1971 and 1982; originally named Bloomington Lake, renamed in 1987 by Congress for West Virginia Senator William Jennings Randolph (d.1998). (US-T121)
