Description
Heads 3.1 km (1.9 mi) east southeast of the mouth of Sevenmile Creek, flows southwest, then south to join Mud Creek, 0.3 km (0.2 mi) upstream from its junction with the Guyandotte River at the north edge of the community of Barboursville.
History
Named for William Merritt, early 19th century landowner and grist mill operator.
