Description
1.9 km (1.2 mi) long; heads 4.2 km (2.6 mi) N of Hayes Lake, flows E to its confluence with Coffee Creek 3.4 km (2.1 mi) upstream of its confluence with the Skookumchuck River, at the N end of Centralia. Sec 29, T15N, R2W, Willamette Mer.
History
The name refers to the color of the stream’s water as it passes through peat bogs and tannins, and also that it is a tributary of Coffee Creek.
