Description
Located on the Colvos Passage of the Puget Sound on Vashon Island, 3.5 km (2.2 mi) SE of Olalla and 5.6 km (3.5 mi) W of Burton.
History
Named by Comander Charles Wilkes for Thomas Sanford, quartermaster in one of the ships of the 1841 Expedition in the Puget Sound.
