Description
Located in sec 18,T7N,R47E, Willamette Meridian, 1/2 mile up stream from the junction of the Grande Ronde River and the Snake River.
History
Named for the limestone formations on either side of the Snake River. A kiln was planned but never constructed. The name came into use in the early 1880s.
