Description
Heads on the N edge of Tyende Mesa, flows N past Boot Mesa through Monument Valley, then into the San Juan River, 8 km (5 mi) E of Lake Powell in the Navajo Indian Reservation.
History
Named for the nearby community of Oljato which reportedly means "moonlight" or "moon water" in the Navajo language.
