Located on the Colorado River in downtown Austin. 416 acres in size.

History

Formed in 1960 by the construction of Longhorn Dam. Renamed on July 26, 2007 by the Austin City Council to Lady Bird Lake, in honor of Lady Bird Johnson (1912-2007), First Lady of the United States from 1963 to 1969. The name change was made official for Federal use on March 14, 2013.
