Description
Heads 1 km (0.6 mi) S of Leary, flows generally SE for 14.5 miles, under State Route 59, to join Elliott Creek 2.1 km (1.3 mi) E of Wright Patman Dam.

Named for James F Akin (c 1815-1863), the original grantee of the land through which the stream flows.
