Description
A ridge on the main crest of the Great Smoky Mountains that extends northeasterly from Low Gap to Mount Cammerer, then easterly about 2.5 miles to the valley of the Pigeon River. Lies within the Great Smoky Mountains National Park on the boundary between Haywood County, North Carolina and Cocke County, Tennessee.
History
Named in honor of the late Arno B Cammerer (1883-1941), who was Director of the National Park Service from 1933 to 1940. The creation of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park was due in great part to his activities.
