Description
Located in east-central South Dakota, 37 km (23 mi) south of Aberdeen; County Seat: Redfield.
History
Created in 1873, organized in 1879, and named for S l Spink (born 1831) of Whitehall, New York, who came to the Dakota Territory in 1865 and served as its Secretary from 1865 to 1869; he later served as a Territorial Delegate to Congress. (SD-T17/p33)
