Located in eastern south Dakota along the boundary with Minnesota; County Seat: Sioux Falls.
History
Created and organized in 1868; "minnehaha" in the Sioux language translates to "waterfall" and refers to a waterfall feature along the Big Sioux River, in the eastern portion of the County. (SD-T17/p31)
