Description

Located in northestern South Dakota along the boundary with North Dakota, 153 km (95 mi) north northwest of Pierre; County Seat: McIntosh.

History

Created and organized in 1909; named for Dighton Corson of Maine who came to South Dakota in 1876 to practice law. He initiated the framing of the State Constitution, and later served on the State Supreme Court from 1889 to 1913. (SD-T17/p24)
