Description
Located in western South Dakota along the State boundaries of Wyoming and Montana, 61 km (38 mi) north of Rapid City; County Seat: Belle Fourche.
History
Created 1881, organized in 1883 and named for the many sharply-rising hills in the county. (SD-T17/p23)
