Description
Located in southern South Dakota along the boundary with Nebraska, 137 km (85 mi) southeast of Rapid City; County Seat: Martin.
History
Created in 1909 and organized in 1912; named for John E Bennett (died 1893), a judge who elected to the first State Supreme Court in 1889. (SD-T17/p24)
