Description

48 miles long. Heads in MA at the junction of the Middle River and Mill Brook, flows SE into RI at Pawtucket where it becomes the Seekonk River; Cities of Pawtucket, Central Falls, and Towns of Cumberland, Lincoln, Woonsocket and Smithfield, RI and Towns of Blackstone, Mittville, Uxbridge, MA.

History

Named for William Blackstone who was the first settler in Boston as well as in the Town of Rehoboth in 1634. The town included land in Attleborough along the Blackstone River <Steel; Drake 1856>.
