Description
The stream historically rose in the area of the Wawa on Limekiln Pike, is now underground along the property of Primex Garden Center on Glenside Avenue, and emerges on the west side of Glenside Avenue in the area of Lynwood Avenue, and forms the main feature of Grove Park along that street. The stream empties into the Tookany Creek in the vicinity of the rear of the Glenside Post Office.
History
Located in today’s Glenside neighborhood, “Shady Nook Farm” was the estate and farm of George D. Heist, an influential 19th century resident. The property was situated on the northwest side of Easton Road, bounded by that road, Limekiln Pike, and the Railroad.
