Description
72 miles long. Heads on Broad Mountain in Foster Township, flows generally SW past Pine Grove, through Swatara State Park, to the W of Jonestown, N and W of Hershey and Hummelstown, to enter the Susquehanna River at Middletown.
History
In April 2009, the Board on Geographic Names (BGN) considered and rejected a proposal to change this stream's name to Swatara River, citing a lack of a compelling reason to change a longstanding name.
