Description

Heads 0.6 km (0.4 mi) ESE of Bryn Mawr Hospital and Rehabilitation Center, flows E to join Ridley Creek 0.8 km (0.5 mi) N of Goshenville.

History

Named because the stream flows through a geological feature known as a "serpentine barren". Reportedly the locally found serpentine rock is poisonous to most plants and the almost-bare outcroppings of this rock are called "barrens".
