Description
Located on the north side of Wolf Ridge along Podo Creek, 2.7 km (1.7 mi) east of Bear Mountain; in the northern section of the Paulina Ranger District in Ochoco National Forest.
History
"Podo" is of Northern Paiute origin and reportedly translates to "digging stick". This tool was important to Native American women and is connected to the meadow because of its abundance of culturally valuable roots and bulbs.
