Description
Located 0.6 km (0.4 mi) N of Hat Point on the E slope of Summit Ridge, just outside the boundary of Hells Canyon Wilderness; located in Hells Canyon NRA.
History
Named for Sacajawea, a Shoshoni woman who traveled with the Lewis and Clark Expedition. A proposal to change the name Sacajawea Spring to Sacagawea Spring was submitted in February 1998. In December 1999 the proposal was rejected by the U.S. Board on Geographic Names (USBGN).
