Description
Located alongside Wi-Ne-Ma Christian Camp, partially within the Nestucca Bay National Wildlife Refuge, 0.3 km (0.2 mi) inland from Kiwanda Beach, 6.4 km (4 mi) south of Pacific City.
History
Named in association with Wi-Ne-Ma Christian Camp, which was named for Kaitchkona Winema (1848-1932), "The Strong Hearted Woman," a member of the Modoc Tribe and an important figure during the Modoc War of 1872-1873.
