Formed by damming Polecat Creek, 2.5 mi N of Heyburn.
History
Named by Congressional action, Public Law 80-290, 1946. Board on Geographic Names (BGN) action taken so that BGN records will agree with the name used in the legislation authorizing construction. BGN was not notified of the Congressional action at the 1950 decision.
