Description
Heads in a small unnamed lake just north of New Milford, 1.6 km (1 mi) northeast of the community of Rootstown, flows north then east northeast to enter West Branch Reservoir at Campbellsport.
History
Named for Clara Root (1773-1839), who along with her husband and family were the first non-natives to settle in the area in 1802.
